Louis Clément is a partner whose practice focuses on business law, particularly mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and non-profit organizations (“NPOs”). In the course of his practice, he advises companies locally, nationally, and internationally on transactions involving the acquisition and sale of businesses, equity financing, and the formation of consortiums.

With nearly 35 years of experience, Louis has been involved in the design and implementation of numerous complex transaction structures across a wide range of economic sectors.

His services are regularly sought by entrepreneurs and foreign investors wishing to establish operations in Canada. Louis has developed particular expertise in this area, enabling him to clearly identify the challenges faced by businesses seeking to establish themselves in Quebec, regardless of the form of their presence (acquisition, joint venture, establishment of a subsidiary, distribution agreement, etc.).

A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to the non-profit and registered charity sector (including educational institutions), with a particular focus on governance rules and structural optimization.

The quality of his work has earned him repeated recognition as one of Canada’s leading practitioners in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, notably by The Best Lawyers in Canada and The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.
